Carbon Accounting Software for Australian Fleet Managers
Fleet managers own the largest Scope 1 mobile combustion category in most Australian construction, mining, logistics, and services businesses. The workflow that used to need a bespoke Excel model - CSV of vehicle odometer readings, per-vehicle delta calculation, per-fuel-type factor application - now runs as a first-class calculation rule with methodology labels captured per record.
What changes for fleet managers and transport operations
- Odometer-reading fleet workflow: CSV of vehicle meter readings → auto-compute km driven per vehicle from delta-from-previous → apply the correct NGA mobile combustion factor
- Fuel card reconciliation across Ampol, BP, Shell/Viva Energy, Caltex, Puma with per-supplier extraction templates auto-derived
- EV transition tracking: per-vehicle fuel-to-electric transition with market-based Scope 2 for charging where PPA-backed
- Scope 3 Category 4 upstream freight when the fleet is subcontracted vs Scope 1 mobile combustion when owned
- Fleet Method 1 (default factor) vs Method 2/3 (site-specific measurement) selection per NGER Measurement Determination
- Per-facility fleet emission allocation for multi-site operations
What the system does
- Calculation rules with delta-from-previous type: computes km driven from prior odometer reading per vehicle within organisation scope
- Fallback strategies for first reading per vehicle (skip, use_zero, use_extracted, estimate_from_previous_n)
- AI document engine reads fuel card statements from Ampol, BP, Shell/Viva Energy, and regional suppliers - 8 file formats
- AR5 GWP for NGER submission, AR6 GWP for AASB S2 disclosure - same fuel activity data, both regimes
- Per-gas breakdown (CO2, CH4, N2O) preserved on every mobile combustion record
- MCP + Copilot: fleet manager asks Claude Desktop "which vehicles are above baseline fuel consumption this month" and gets the answer with source records
Frequently asked
Does the platform handle fleets with mixed diesel, ULP, and EV?
Yes. Each vehicle is assigned a fuel type (or "electric") and the calculation rule applies the correct factor: NGA diesel factor for diesel vehicles, NGA ULP for petrol, market-based Scope 2 for EV charging where PPA-backed or location-based Scope 2 for grid charging. Transition tracking is captured per-vehicle over time.
What if we have odometer readings but no fuel receipts?
The delta-from-previous calculation rule computes km driven from meter readings and applies the fuel-consumption default per NGER Method 1. If fuel receipts arrive later, they reconcile against the meter-derived figure and the Data Health Agent flags any large variance.
